Spider man 2 review - Spider-Man 2 Reviews
Spiderman is back for his 2nd ride, leaving off from the last film, Harry is eager to get revenge on Spider-Man, Mary Jane is engaged, and Peter Parker would just like to settle down and have a normal life, and the saying "with great power, comes great responsibility" plays the key role in the movies story.
I am a huge fan of spiderman, and coming back from the 12:01 preview i am very pleased on what i saw. I just cant sleep because this movie was outstanding. And just to think that Jake Gyllenhal was about to play spiderman, that would ruin the franchise, because the chemistry between Tobey and Kristen is just so good and they act their characters great together. This is definetly the movie people will be talking about for months to come, so dont miss out. (The Soundtrack is very good aswell).
The sequal is filled with Phenominal Special effects, the introduction of a new character Doc Ock, more choices, and Spiderman is beginning to realize the consequences of the choices he is making. The acting, fair, you should expect the same of what you got out of the first movie, but as for Visuals and Story, Spiderman 2 really stands out with a unique story and ending, and non stop web-slinging action. There may only be only 1 thing i am quite skeptical about, and that would be the feel and presentation. From the first spiderman, every place, every scene has a relativity to one of the charaters. The houses, had that comic "surreal" feel which litteraly put you in the book, but dont get me wrong, this movie does that aswell, but i just feel it could have been better.
This is a movie you cant miss, it is going to set a new Record for both Wensday Box Office opening, and First weekend opening, It will be huge! After watching some dissapointments this summer, such as Day After tomorrow, Troy, and Garfeild, I am pleased to walk in an enjoyable movie and have a positive word about it.
Does it beat the original, well thats for you to decide, with there being more Special effects and action for me, Spider-Man 2 is Number #1 in my books.
Spider-Man. Our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. It is a better thrill ride than the first. It's louder, faster, scarier, and now even romantic. This movie is a movie for everyone. There is a good story which mixes the plot and fights together more than perfect.
Spider-Man 2 leaves off where the first left off. Now Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is showed with real struggles as a teenager. He can't show Mary-Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) the love he has for her. He can't make it to classes. He can't make it to work. All because of his duties of Spider-Man.
Spider-Man 2 isn't just about the fights this time. It's also a truely romantic movie. The movie has you actually caring for the characters more than the first.
Despite it's romance, it is also visited by an evil villan Dr. Octopus (Alfred Molina).
The movie is so good it has you cheering in your seat through the whole movie. I give this movie *****/*****
Spiderman 2 is superb and probably one of the greatest superhero movies of all time, if not the greatest. Everything about this movie is outstanding and not for one moment do you really want to take your eyes off the screen. Without revealing any of the story plot, I can honestly tell you that it is awesome, especially the romantical plot between Peter Parker (Maquire) and Mary Jane Watson (Dunst), Harry Osbourne's (Franco) quest to kill Spiderman, and Dr. Octupus (Molina) trying to capture Spiderman. Dr. Octupus is truely scary, and is a great villain in this movie and the Spiderman franchise as a whole. Every actor was extraordinay in this movie, with each actor accurately portraying the emotions they should feel and also showing style during action scenes. Maquire has shown us before that he is an outstanding actor, and he has shown us again that he has the ability to do it. I dont know what to say about the visuals, except they are the greatest visuals I have ever seen next to Return of the King, and they should be since this movie has a $210 dollar budget. I never wanted to take my eyes off the screen because this movie literally looked that good. Kudos to the director as well, for he did an awesome job directing this movie and graphically making it the way it should look. Dont miss out on this movie....SEE IT!!!!
It is amazing. This film really soars in every way. The story, directing, acting, cinematography, and score are all incredible. It truly is a sequel that has proven that not all sequels pale in comparison to their predecessor. I am so excited about how well it was done.
In the packed out auditorium at the midnight showing, everyone cheered the moment it started. Danny Elfman?s score has been pumped up for this new installment and sounded absolutely amazing behind the opening credits. The story just propels from here. Every detail about every moment has been taken care of and each character has grown so much in the past two years.
Tobey Maguire was once again perfect as Peter Parker. Ever nuance of the tragic hero was perfectly played without shame or reservation. He really got better during the two years that passed between filming. There was such complexity of character that really made him more human.
Kirsten Dunst also was great at playing M.J. Thankfully her bright hair was a little more subdued this time around but in no way was her acting or characterization subdued. She really brought a new level of emotion to her character that went beyond the screaming of her first screen attempt. Not saying that she wasn?t great in the first one, but this time she really hit her role head on.
Alfred Molina: what can I say? He was such a great villain. Like Maguire and Dunst, he also had such a great level of depth and he really seamlessly jumped into the Spider-Man franchise with panache. You will love to hate him.
James Franco was a great best-friend-turned-tortured-enemy. It was sad to see the destruction of the friendship that Peter and Harry shared. This really enhanced the film and tied it in nicely with the first one.
The rest of the cast, including Rosemary Harris and J. K. Simmons were once again wonderful, adding their own great touch to the film.
Sam Raimi is such an interesting director. He really knows how to add together humor, action, romance and drama for a great movie-going experience. It really was a good directing job?and it would probably safe to say the best directed comic book film to date. He used visual effects to propel the story, not just making it eye candy but really giving top notch filming style with seamless effects.
Overall, this film was incredible. It was not absolutely without a doubt perfect, but what film is? There were a few times where campy humor was used, but hey?it is a comic book film and campy humor fits nicely?and not in a bad way. From start to finish I was entertained and surprised. It was in no way predictable and held me on the edge of my seat?and smiling like a child every time I got to watch Spidey swing through New York City.
If you are looking for a good time at the theater this summer, this film is a must see. I loved it and can?t wait to see it again.
