In my humble opinion... - Spider-Man 2 Reviews
Spider-Man 2 is better than its predecessor.
The story starts two years after Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) assumed his role as the superhero Spider-Man. The theme still revolves around "great powers come with great responsibilities." However, Peter must now come face the fact that he cannot juggle all his roles: a struggling student, a friend to Harry Osborne (James Franco) who is still obsessed with the death of his father, a lover to Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst) without divulging his secret, a good nephew to his Auntie Mae (Rosemary Harris) without being guilty for his uncle's death, a photographer with the Daily Bugle, a pizza delivery boy, and a superhero.
And then the inevitable happens: superhero stress. This is made worse by an accidental new villain in town, Doc Ock (Alfredo Molina).
The movie is filled with great special effects. The action and fight sequences were well choreographed. The story has also been improved. A teaser of what to expect on the third installment was also been incorporated. The movie was funny at times, the awkward elevator scene was a hoot, but the crowd cheered most at the slapstick jokes.
The two hour long movie was a well spent entertainment machine.
