Doc ock is one seriously scary dude! - Spider-Man 2 Reviews

Let me start off by telling you that I own, and have read, all but three comics and a handfull of annuals of the four major Spider-man titles from 1962 to 1992. I really enjoyed this movie. There were some slight story ideas that bothered me a tiny bit (things that just didn't happen in the comics) but nothing at all that I really couldn't live with. There were so many elements of this story that were so true to the history and feel of the series I could forgive some of the smaller things. Doc Ock is a nightmare for everyone around him. I think on the whole they really went to town on his character and look - fantastic. Another thing I liked very much about this story is that it is a continuation of the first movie from the opening credits to the end. In the opening credits they had some very nice artwork in amongst the webs that recapped the major events of the first movie very nicely, and the characters (Yes they got all the actors who played the major characters of the first movie to return from what I could see) had grown in the two years since the events in the first movie. It isn't like the Batman movies where they keep introducing new people and once they end the movie they do something else (the only person who had any room to grow in that series was Alfred because they kept switching actors with everyone else), this is a continuing story. Again, they took some ideas from several different books in the series and put them into a pretty good script. They are even looking into the future as they do this storyline - I can think of two more movies they could do from here, with a third as a possibility. I hope they wait a little longer for one of the directions they've introduced. Bottom Line - I intend to see this movie at least one more time in the theater. I would recommend it.
